Educational and entertainment disclaimer
This site is published for general education and entertainment. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional.
What this library is
Pernilla’s Holistic Library reports on traditional plant knowledge, culinary use and current research about foods, herbs, mushrooms and other natural ingredients. Entries clearly separate historical or traditional use from modern human research, and note where established treatment has not been demonstrated.
What this library is not
Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any disease. No entry should be used to start, stop or change a medication or medical treatment. Reading about an ingredient here is not equivalent to a clinical evaluation of your specific health situation.
Editorial and clinical review status
Individual entries display their own review status. Some entries are marked as reviewed against cited sources; others carry a note that they were published under this site-wide educational/entertainment disclaimer and have not yet completed a separate clinical review pass. That distinction is disclosed on the entry itself, in its “Sources & review” section, rather than assumed silently. Entries awaiting clinical review are still expected to be accurately sourced — the review note reflects an additional editorial step still pending, not a claim that the content is unverified.
Safety-sensitive content
Some entries — including those covering compounds with a real toxicity, contamination or interaction profile — are flagged internally for a closer safety read-through before wider promotion. If an entry discusses a genuine health risk (poisoning, organ toxicity, dangerous drug interactions, or similar), treat the caution section on that page as the load-bearing part of the entry, and confirm anything safety-critical with a clinician or pharmacist before acting on it.
Always talk to a professional
Talk with a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare provider before starting a new supplement or herb, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, managing a chronic condition, scheduled for surgery, or taking prescription medication. Seek emergency care for any urgent symptom rather than searching for a home remedy.
